The FRANCISCAN SUBURB

From September 21 until October 2 every year the responsibility for the Quibdonian celebration is of the 12 Franciscan Suburbs and their associates.

THE SUBURBS, are those segments in which the individuals collide in their daily circle of life, in the suburbs the are born, they grow, they build their first sentiment of love to the mother land, and all the cumulated tension from monotony must be erased in the imaginative space created by the festivities. The suburb is the basic place to organize the celebration and is the MARK that gives an identity to participating Quibdonians. The organization has its origins in religious practices.
